Babies Update August 13, 2024

Though our main goal is to support young people and adults who seek to advance

their careers in music and the arts, we have been working to help anyone who comes

to us is in desperate situations. We are simply not willing to turn away people

whose lives are in danger if we can help them.

Right now we are very involved in helping several very young children and infants.

Two of our children were abandoned by their parents. Anabel was abandoned by her

mother when she was three years old. The mother later died. We have been paying the

monthly fees for Anabel to stay in a children's care center. Gofred's father

abandoned him on the beach in Accra to go look for work in a neighboring country.

The father later returned and took him to an inland village but he is constantly

leaving Gofred behind as he travels around Ghana looking for work.

We helped the mothers of three of our children when they were pregnant and provided

for hospital and medical care so that the children could be born safely.

Melbourne's father was later arrested and is in prison for working without a

license in an attempt to care for his family. Vicky's mother and father are desperately poor and her mother recently abandoned her.

Little Donald's mother is little more than a child herself and has no income.

Several times in her desperation she has turned to prostitution in an attempt to

get enough money to feed her baby but this is a path she does not want to take and

we want to save her from that. Donald has several continuing health problems that

badly need to be taken care of but for now we are doing our best simply to make

certain that he and his mother have food and a roof over their heads.

Yes, there are many sick and abandoned children in the world and no, we cannot save

them all. But we can save some of them. And these are the ones who came to our door

in need. We can't turn them away.
