Rita Fell.

Rita is a sixteen year old girl in Accra, Ghana. She is homeless and living on the

beach. John has been trying to help her and possibly get her back with her family

in the nearby town she originally came from.

This past week Rita took a really hard fall from a third floor staircase.

Fortunately she didn't break any bones but she got a truly ugly gash on her leg.

John didn't have the funds on hand to help her immediately and she had suffer for

over 24 hours before she could get help at the local first aid station. When she

finally had the funds to pay for care her wound was bandaged and she was told that

she would need a series of tetanus shots stretched out over several weeks. We will

try to make certain that she is able to get these, though sometimes in real terms

even such simple things are difficult to get done.

John has long had a dream of helping the homeless of Accra make legitimate

money of their own. Selling a sort of local hardboiled egg and spice dish in the

marketplace is one idea. Though this may take only a small investment to get started it has

been difficult to do because of the endless stream of emergencies that John has to

take care of. It just isn't possible to send away those who come to John's door in

need of help. So for now girls like Rita have to get along as best they can.

Right now Rita is back homeless on the beach in Accra but we are trying to what we

can to help her get in a better life situation.
