Anabel Update
Anabel is a little girl in Ghana who was abandoned by her mother when she was three
years of age. Some children found her and took her to our friend John who arranged
for her to stay at a private childcare center. We have been providing for her care
since then.
Like all small children Anabel has had her share of ups and downs, including
illness and injury, but she has made it through and is now attending school.
Anabel turned six years of age last April. We are very proud of this tough little
survivor and deeply appreciative of those who have contributed to help with her
needs.
Recently Anabel came down with a serious digestive illness and wound up in the
hospital. We are glad to report that she has fully recovered and is now back at
school. At least for the present everything is well in her life. Of course, being an
abandoned child totally dependent on the charity of others is not a good thing but
at least she has a place to stay and people to care for her. Many children her age
are not so fortunate.
But we are determined to do everything we can to make sure that this little girl
has a future and will not wind up on the streets with no way to survive, like so
many girls in Ghana.
When things are going well there are no dramatic events to report, and this is the
situation Anabel is in right now. But that is a good thing. We will continue to do
our best for her as long as we can.
