Happiness and Destiny
Not long ago a young woman came to our friend John in Ghana asking for help. She
was pregnant and due to deliver within a week or two and needed a place to stay as
well as help financially so that she could give birth in a safe hospital
environment. She is 33 years old and she also has a four-year-old son named
Destiny. She wanted a safe place for him to stay while she was giving birth.
We try to help every pregnant woman who comes to us asking for help and John agreed
to do what he could. He provided accommodations for Happiness and Destiny and helped
Happiness to purchase the list of things the doctors give to every pregnant woman
to take to the hospital when they give birth. We also gave her a small amount of
money to take care of Destiny.
Yesterday John told us that the hospital had said that Happiness was very close to
giving birth and that she should be staying in the hospital until the baby was
born. So, she has been admitted and now we are waiting. Happiness may give birth at
any moment. We are excited but also apprehensive, hoping that everything goes well
for both mother and her future child.
