Happy Birthday! Anabel Update 4/21/26

Anabel's Birthday Party

Today is Anabel's birthday. She was abandoned by her mother when she was three

years old. We have been providing for her to stay at a child care center since that

time. Today she is seven years old.

We have been doing what we can for Anabel. She has a place to stay, regular food

and care and when emergencies arise, as they always do with children everywhere, we

do what we can to make things right. Sometimes we aren't able to react fast enough

when something comes up. Sometimes her needs are simply more than we can manage.

But thanks to some very kind donors we have been able to meet her basic needs every

month and that is important.

Sometimes when things come up, we aren't informed of them in time to be able to make

sure that the funds are there to take care of them. This happened earlier this month

when the school took the children on an Easter outing. There was a fee to be able

to go and we didn't learn of it in time to get the funds to them so that Anabel

could go along. The unfortunate fact is that Anabel is an orphan girl living on

charity. She does not have well-funded parents on the spot who can respond

immediately when something happens. And we have others we try to take care of, too.

When the money becomes too much of a burden, we have to ask how much we can provide

for one girl at the expense of others who are also in need. But we do our best.

Because Anabel missed her easter outing we were determined that she would have at

least some sort of party on her birthday. Birthdays are always a child's very

special day, when everything is about them and they are the center of the world, at

least for one day. She deserves at least that much.
