When three year old Melbourne in Ghana was released from the hospital after being

treated for accidentally drinking kerosene without knowing what it was, John went

to visit the boy and his mother to see how they were doing and also to take some

photos of the child to share.

They live in a very dangerous neighborhood and John was beaten up.

John made it home safely but he has only slowly recovered from his injuries. Many

of his records were stored on his phone which was damaged so while it is being repaired he has no access to it. John's cellphone is presently in shop being repaired and hopefully he will have it back early next week.

Even so, John has managed to get the money sent to the childcare center where five

year old orphan Anabel is staying so that she will be cared for. He also managed to

get some funds to the single Nigerian girl Favour and her eight month old baby

Donald so that they can eat.

This is all a sad mess that should not have happened. Like everywhere else, Ghana

has some neighborhoods that are simply not safe to go into. But if they are unsafe

for a grown man like John, think how unsafe they are for Melbourne and his mother,

who are forced to live there.

Thanks for your help and your prayers.
