End of the Year- Where we Stand

We had intended to post something for Christmas on the website but as it turned out

life got in the way, thanks to an unexpected heart attack and a week in the

hospital recovering from it. We apologize for our silence.

Every year we hope to finance a little Christmas party for our friends in Ghana,

for the little ones if no one else, but things keep getting in the way. This year

what got in the way is survival. We would still like to do something for New Years

holiday but that may be impossible as well.

But we are all alive, struggling as people always do, but though our backs are

more bent our spirits are not broken. We would be lying to pretend that the last

few weeks have not been damaging, not only damaging but discouraging and

frustrating. We lost a little baby boy at birth at the end of the year, the first

one we have not been able to bring safely into the world, and that weighs heavily

on our hearts, but the other little ones are alive, if not really doing well.

It remains John's dream to set up his Nanny House where the little ones can spend

at least some of their time in safe shelter, with a bit of food every day and some

education. This will be our goal for the next year if we can hold things together.

As things stand now, we simply do not know what the future will bring. We like to

believe that we will move forward to fulfill some of our underlying goals. But for

now we hope we will simply be able to carry on P9 and our work with John's outreach

to the community.

This next week should tell a lot, both in terms of our own health here in the US

and also, in how things are holding in Ghana. We will keep everyone informed as we

can.

" All walk the same path " gh

God bless us all and may the coming year be good.
