A little over a year ago a young woman named Favour came to John in Ghana asking
for help. She was pregnant, homeless, and broke. John helped her through the birth
of her baby boy and has been helping both mother and child since then as he has
been able with the limited funds available to him. The baby was given the name
Donald and he recently celebrated his first birthday.
On the morning of the 7th Favour came to John in great distress. Donald was very
sick, weak and crying. They had had no money and very little food for some time so
malnourishment was playing a part, but the child's eyes were yellow and John feared
that he had come down with malaria caused by mosquito bites.
They took him to the hospital for treatment and he was admitted. They gave him a
drip and he is receiving treatment. John and Favour will be able to see him again
in the morning but for now he is being held overnight.
Donald has gone through many challenges in his brief life and now he is once again
in danger. We are hoping for the best.
