Our friend John in Ghana has dedicated his life to helping the poorest of the poor
who find themselves in desperate situations, especially emergency, life-threatening
illnesses or injuries John himself has been struggling for years with serious
health problems. For some time now he has been been very ill. Finally he went to
the doctors, who told him that he needed surgery. He had to delay the operation
several times but finally he went in to the local hospital this morning to get it
done.
The doctors had said that the operation would be two hours and then he could be
released with no overnight stay but because of his weakened condition they insisted
that he receive four IV drip bags after the operation or they would not let him go home
before Monday. The problem with that is that he didn't have the money on hand to
pay for it but we managed to get the funds to him in time and he was released late
in the day.
John is now home and resting comfortably. He is taking the medicines they provided
for him and hopefully he will recover with no more problems.
