Kodua

Just because we have been having our own challenges within the ranks of P9, that doesn't mean that life has stopped for those we have been helping. They have all been having their own problems and difficulties. Poverty is the relentless enemy, and it never stops making life hard for those who are trapped in its grasp.

Just recently John asked if we could help Kodua, one of the small children we have been helping off and on as we have been able. Kodua was abandoned by his mother shortly after birth and his father has been struggling trying to care for him by himself. Kodua's father has no way to make money, so he and the little boy have been homeless, living on the street. But he is doing the best he can.

Kodua's father told John that the little boy is ill. He is covered with a rash that has spread even to the inside of his mouth. He asked for help to buy medicine.

Despite our current limitations we managed to send money to help, and Kodua's father was able to pay for the little boy to receive treatment. The father told John that the little boy is better, but he had lost his appetite because of the side-effects of the medicine. He asked for more money to buy food.

We are still waiting to hear how the little boy is doing but at least he is under treatment for his illness.
