Big News About Anabel

Anabel is a small girl who was found abandoned on the streets in Ghana several

years ago. She was brought to our friend John, who took her under his care and

arranged for her to stay at a childcare center. She has been living there since

that time. Anabel had no one to care for her and no place else to go. If not for

the care we provided through P9 during those years she would have been out on the

streets. As horrible as it sounds, she would not have been the only three-year-old

homeless child in Africa.

But just recently one of Anabel's adult relatives has stepped up to take

charge of the little girl and take her to live with the rest of Anabel's extended

family in a village in another part of Ghana.

John had said when he first took responsibility for Anabel that he knew that she

had aunts living some distance away but he didn't know where they were or how to

get in touch with them. But now they have come on their own to take responsibility

for Anabel and she will live among them with her own relatives.

It is a good thing that Anabel will be in a family situation and not living in an

institution. John will monitor the situation but for now Anabel is safe and her

with her own people. We are glad to see this happy ending and wish her all the

best.

We are very appreciative for all of those who have stepped up to help care for

Anabel. Our resources at P9 are modest and every dollar counts. Anabel's need has

been so great and so continuing that it simply would have been impossible for us to

care for her without help. It is no exaggeration to say that Anabel is alive

because of the kind donations that have been given on her behalf. We can only say

thank you. You have done a great deed. You saved a life in need.

Thank you.

We will post more updates on Anabel as they become available.
